Daily Crypto Market Update – Rumors Cause XRP price to Surge

The total crypto market capitalization has increased by 1.3% to $1.18 trillion in the past 24 hours. Of the figure, the two leading cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum, account for 44% and 17%, respectively.

Further, all top ten cryptocurrencies except for BNB, which dropped by 2.3%, posted gains in the past day.

Top Gainers of the Day

XRP – This token increased by 16.5% in the 24 hours to $0.454. The surge is said to be fueled by rumors that the lawsuit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission against the XRP’s developer, Ripple, could end.

Celer Network (CELR) – The coin saw gains of 14.7% in the past day. It is currently trading at $0.024. Celer Network developer recently announced the launch of its Brevis platform, which allows decentralized applications to access and use arbitrary data across several blockchains trust-free.

Gitcoin (GTC) – The crypto gained 14.3% in the past 24 hours and is changing hands for $2.25. GTC surged 27% over the past week. It has a market cap of $136 million.

Algorand (ALGO) – The token rose 12.3% in the past day to trade at $0.237. The surge could be due to the ALGO developer’s recent announcement that the launch of the ALGOKit developer portal is nearing.

Top five Losers of the Day

CORE – The token is the biggest loser of the day after shedding 13% of its value in the past 24 hours to change hands for $2.11 as of this writing. CORE’s market cap sits at $146.45 million.

Stacks (STX) – Despite the project launching its most-anticipated Stacks 2.1 upgrade a few days ago, the token dropped by 7% to $1.12.

RSK Infrastructure Framework (RIF) – The coin plunged 6% to $0.159. However, despite shedding some value today, the token is still up 64% since the start of the month.

JOE – The crypto declined by 5.9% to $0.385 in the past 24 hours. JOE was the biggest gainer just yesterday. But it is still up 74% over the last seven days. Its market cap is currently $129 million.

OMG Network (OMG) – The token joins the biggest losers after posting a 5.5% decline in the past day. OMG’s market cap now sits at $250 million.
